Scrapyard kid. Ridgewalker. Reluctant heir to something older than the stars.

Kailum Boone is not the loudest teenager in Hope Bay. He is not the flashiest. He does not say much unless it matters. But when danger comes, Kailum shows up — for his friends, for the forgotten, and for people who may not even deserve it. On Zorhros, that kind of loyalty can change everything.

Growing Up

Long before the ancient secrets, the Praxian Guards, and the destiny buried beneath Zorhros, Kailum Boone was just a quiet boy growing up in the dust and noise of Hope Bay — a forgotten settlement where machines broke down, storms rolled in without warning, and most people learned early not to ask too many questions.

Even then, Kailum felt different.

He had a natural gift for fixing things — broken circuits, failing engines, old tech most people had already given up on. But his real surprise came the first time he stepped onto a skiv. Even as a young boy, Kailum moved with an ease that startled everyone watching. He could read the wind, feel the board beneath him, and cut through the rough edges of the scrapyards with a balance and confidence most older kids were still chasing.

That was one reason Aunt Lavinia trusted him early. While other boys his age were still proving themselves, Kailum was already scavenging abandoned star tenders, wrecked pirate vessels, and half-buried machines most adults were wise enough to avoid. What he found, he brought back to Lavinia’s House of Treasures, where he repaired, polished, and restored the forgotten pieces she sold from the shop.

For a long while, that was Kailum’s world: dust, salvage, old machines, skiv runs through dangerous wreckage, and the quiet feeling that he didn’t quite belong to Zorhros.

Then came Auren and Tarak.

With them, Hope Bay became more than a place to survive. It became home. But beneath the dust, something ancient was waiting — and Kailum was closer to it than he ever imagined.

Kailum is the instinct.

Kailum moves by feeling. He senses danger before he can explain it. He trusts the shift in the air and the tremor in the stone. Where Auren thinks three steps ahead and Tarak charges forward with his whole heart.
